What if a spouse wont take out a policy on him/herself

My husband doesn't want to take out a life insurance policy on himself, but if something were to happen to him, I am certain that I could not continue to pay the mortgage and my 2 daughters and I would certainly lose our home. I have always used my income to ensure that our kids have the best things in life and that includes being active in sports and other activities to keep them out of trouble and constantly learning new things in life. His reason being, "when I am dead - I'm dead, I don't have to worry about anything else." Obviously he doesn't care enough about us, and obvisouly I am stupid enought to stay with such a man. I myself do have a policy in the case of my death because I would never want my children to have to go through I went through when my mother died and didn't have enough life insurance. Instead of having time to grieve, we were worried about giving her a proper burial _ and ye we did because she deserved it!

I would nag the absolute crap out of him if I were you.

His attitude enrages and disgusts me.

It sounds like you want to leave him anyway, so go ahead.

Take half his stuff......your children deserve at least that.
