Can someone take out a life insurance policy on you without you knowing?

Most life insurance companies require a insurance exam and that would require the insureds consent. The Medical Information Bureau
would have a file on anyone who applied for life insurance. This might be a good source to see if an application had been submitted.

i keep finding my address associated with a family member who has had insurance on my father and he died under suspicious circumstances does anyone know how I can find out if there is a policy taken out on my by him?

I once took out a loan from a bank and after the loan was paid off I found out the bank had taken out a life insurance policy on me to cover the loan. I don't remember giving them the OK for this. I also know an employer can take a life insurance policy out on any worker, and I believe this is without their knowledge. The thing that bothers me is can BP take out a policy on the fishing boat contractors in the gulf without them knowing and collect if they commit suicide. I know this sounds sick but I would not be supprised to findout it is true.

We had a local business man who had his own life insurance policy on himself which included suicide coverage. He was scamming his customers and stealing millions from his own company for years, when it finally caught up with him, he killed himself leaving a million to his family.

His family fought with the customers, saying they were not at fault for the scamming, and managed to keep most of the money. The world is full of people who use the system to their advantage no matter how it hurts others.

How is possible that this taking policies out on people without their consent is allowed? THis is madness, disgusting,.... I have just learned about corperate policies on "rank and file" employees without their consent... I am amazed at such corruption! And then I discover that people are doing this individally as well.

I'm getting divorce with my husband and he refuses to take me off the life insurance. couple of days ago he said "I wish you die". How am i suppose to live with that. We have 6 y.o. - i'm so worried. When I called his insure. company they said that couldn't change anything since he's the owner of the police. And we are in United States of America - I don't get it. I'm sorry but I appreciate the fact that I can take out a policy on someone. My dbag husband who I thought I had divorced when I signed all the papers he sent me never filed the divorce. He has a ton of debt attached to my name, if he dies I assume any debt he has acquired on his own, I haven't seen him in almost two years!! I think it's great that if he eats it not only will I no longer be married to him( I have neither the time nor money to go through cvi divorce courts + I found out I can get finaid for school because I'm "legally" married which I didn't get my first semester when I thought I was divorced) but I'll be debt free. It's the only nice thing he could do for me now.

Is it possible? My father and mother in law were befriended by a local banker around the time my father in law was diagnosed with prostate cancer. We had my father in law cosign a loan for us through this banker, come to find out he (the banker) had an insurance policy on our loan. Is it possible that the banker could have benefitted from my father in laws passing even if the loan was paid in full. This is the 3 rd or 4th family this banker has befriended near the end of their life, seams suspicious to me. I think he helped my mother in law (second wife) take off out of town with the estate $ that was put in trust for the 5 children.

I just found out someone took out a 100k life insurance policy on me, and I don't even know the person. I contacted the company and they have all my personal information, but claim the monthly payment is not being made by my account. It's being paid by another person, whom is the beneficiary, and they claim that the beneficiary is noted in their system as my Fiancé and again the man claiming he's my fiancé is not anyone I even know. I believe you must have a vested interest to buy insurance. For instance, if I bought fire insurance on your house, I might become very careless with matches. Taking out life insurance on you is even worse, I might invite you to Aruba and there might be a snorkeling accident ;-) In that recent case they took out "travel insurance" so they did not need medical exams and I suspect the took out their own insurance and made the other the beneficiary, not same as taking out insurance "on" someone else.

IYes,You can take out an insurance policy on someone without their knowledge and rake in hundreds of thousands of dollars and get away with it.My sister is doing it and has become rich.She collected hundred of thousands on my uncle without him knowing about the policy and him signing his name.,and just a months ago she collected on my brother.She has been doing it for years.She is rich and set for life.She also has one on my mother without her knowledge.She got thousands from american general.Because they are so secretly,you can beat the system.
