Converting term life to permanent life insurance

I have term life insurance with Prudential Insurance Co. and at my age now of 63 yrs can I convert to permanent life insurance? My policy now will be up in another 20 yrs and I did not know that the term life insurance is for only the expectancy years I live. help!
