When does whole life ins run out after you buy it? What I mean is, does it last until your dead or is there some specific date when it doesn't cover you anymore?

Whole life insurance will stay inforce your entire life as long as your premiums are paid on time. Unlike term insurance there is no
expiration date on the coverage.
