Life insurance for over 50

I recently turned 50, am in pretty good shape, with no existing medical conditions though I could afford to lose some weight for sure. A friend who is an agent just quoted me $1200 per year for $200,000 of life insurance.

Does that sound reasonable?

Seth, In order to answer your question I would need to know your height, weight and what length of term you are considering. (ex. 10,15,20 or 30 year term periods).

Seth - It's easy to figure this out on your own. Just go to http://www.reliaquote.com and enter all of the quote information. They represent a bunch of reputable companies. You can see how your friend's quote stacks up. This is only for term life insurance.

Is it just to pay off the mortgage, or are there other needs?
