lost Policy

My father just passed away on 09/06/09. I know he had a insurance policy taken out for either me or my daughter , but we can not find any paperwork . How would I go about searching for this policy he had with Gerber . His new wife is .. lets just say a few fries short of a happy meal .. and we need help .. Can you please help ?

Policy would have been taken out by my father Richard Dix Monica and issued to me Becky Jean monica or my daughter Kathryn Monica . I do have all social security numbers when and if needed .
