Life Insurance No Medical Exam

I need to get some life insurance (I've never owned any) because I have my first baby on the way. The problem is that I'm terribly scared of needles and really hate stepping foot in a doctor's office. I've seen some advertisements for life insurance without a medical exam which of course sounds great to me but will these policies cost a lot more?

Yes. The fact is that some of these no exam life insurance policies may cost you more, because you may be accepted by an insurer, who might not accept you with a complete exam.

If you get a fully underwritten policy, including an exam, you may pay less. However, the rates for no exam life insurance may be lower than you think, depending on your age, health, and amount of coverage.

With no exam life insurance you just answer a few health questions and find out what your policy will cost you.

Daniel, you shouldn't be afraid of taking a medical exam for your life insurance policy. The exam is fairly simple and is usually conducted in your home or office for your convenience. You don't have to set foot in a doctor's office! And you may not face any needles. (They can take your blood sample by pricking your finger.) Taking the exam could be well worth the better coverage you'll get. Good luck!
